Lions have always been described as
“The King of the jungle.”
His roar cries out in absolute authority,
and his strength and power are not in question,
but what is in question is which lion is roaring!
The Bible ascribes the character of the lion to both Satan and Christ,
but there is one important difference between the roar of these two lions.
After Adam and Eve fell in sin,
the mantle of Adam’s authority over the world was relinquished to Satan,
and he became the ruler of this world.
His dominion was over the earth and his roar was feared
due to his self-conscripted position of authority.
Yet when Jesus conquered death on the cross
Colossians 2:15 says that he stripped the dominion and rule of Satan,
“Openly DISGRACING and TRIUMPHING over him.”
Nevertheless, there still are two lions roaring in the world.
One that roams to-and-fro on the earth who now
roars with no authority only seeking to frighten
and overcome all that succumb to him in ignorance and fear,
and the other, the true King - THE LION OF JUDAH -
who now is the ruler and authority of this world and the world to come.
Friend, we all have a choice which Lion we will hear and obey.
