We’ve all seen others behaving badly, like people driving on the
shoulder of the road to pass a traffic jam, cutting in line, or high-speed motorcycles
dangerously weaving in and out of traffic like it’s their own private racetrack.
Others openly do drugs in public, or rowdy people loudly using profanity and intimidating
others - and that’s just in public. Bad behavior like these and more happen
daily in today’s limit-less world — and that’s not even including all
the things done in private.
These are as Judges 21:25 says those living by their own standards and doing
what they seem right, because in today’s world there is no longer any standard
of legal, ethical or moral authority. As the great mantra of the 60’s boldly proclaimed,
'DO YOUR OWN THING,' and that THING is anyTHING you deem is right.
However as Newton’s law says of the physical world that 'For every action,
there is an equal and opposite reaction,' likewise this is true in the spiritual world.
The Bible says in Galatians 6:7-8
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked,
For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For
He that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh
REAP CORRUPTION, but
He that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit
Reap LIFE EVERLASTING.”
Yes! You CAN do that which is right in your own eyes, especially if there is no authority
to stop you, but there will be an opposite and JUST reaction. It’s not too late to
keep going down that NOT O.K. path that leads to a
questionable future. Instead Jesus asks you to:
“Seek ye first
The kingdom of God, and
His [i.e. not your own] righteousness, and
All these [good and blessed] things shall be added unto you.”
Matthew 6:33
Yes, you CAN do what you want for 'that which is right in your own
eyes,' but do you also want the consequences for your action?
