Many people have shared amazing accounts of dying and going to heaven and -without exception -
have accounted repeated stories of the unspeakable glories and wonders that are there
that go far beyond anything man-made on earth. However there IS ONE MAN-MADE
thing that WILL be there, and that is the imprints of the iron nails driven
by the Roman soldiers that were pounded into the hands of Christ onto the cross at Calvary.
In the gospel hymn, “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” the verse concludes by saying
that 'the things of this world will grow strangely dim, in the light of His
GLORY and GRACE' and no doubt that is true — yet seeing those nail prints
will be a reminder of the sacrifice Christ made for us when He was nailed to that cross.
Now admittedly, if you doubt what appears
foolhardy about someone dying and then arising from the dead, then you are not alone.
Even a man that walked with Christ for three years has
historically been memorialized in common language as a symbol of skepticism whenever
we say that someone is a “Doubting Thomas.” Jesus followed up that
somewhat cold proclamation when He said to the apostle Thomas -
“You have seen me and believed, but blessed are those that have NOT SEEN ME,
yet believe” (John 20:29) - and the same is true for everyone that reads this message.
It wasn’t just the Roman soldiers that pounded those nails into Christ hands
and crucified him - we ALL made the nails and marks on Him. Christ was nailed to the
cross and died for all of us to pay the debt of all sins of all people that ever lived.
Friend, that IN SHORT is the message of the GOSPEL for you to understand today, and
the question that all people must answer is 'DO YOU BELIEVE THIS?'
As Jesus said, those that haven’t seen yet believe will one day SEE those nail prints
in His hands in heaven.
Will you be one of those people?
