Here’s the short answer….. NO!!
Contrary to popular belief, Christianity does NOT make Bad People Good.
What it actually does is It Makes Dead People LIVE.
So what exactly does that mean?
The Bible says that all of us in this life are 'sinners,'
and if that offends you, consider the following.
Have you ever lied? Stolen anything?
Sworn and used profanity and especially used God’s name in vein?
Lusted after someone sexually? If you’re honest, we have ALL done one these
things or more of and in doing so the Bible says that therefore we are all sinners
and that we will all die in our sins. That means that all sinners at death will be
separated from God forever, however the GOOD NEWS (i.e. literally the definition
of the word “Gospel”) of today’s Bible verse tells us that God
will make all that have been dead spiritually alive for all eternity for those that
have accepted the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
You see, it is not 'good people' that go to heaven, but those that have been
“MADE ALIVE” through Christ. It is His desire that we all be
'made alive' and that no one would ever perish and be separated from Him for
eternity, but that everyone comes to truly repent of their sins. (2 Peter 3:9)
The only thing lacking is making the decision to let Him make you “Alive In
Christ” by simply confessing from your heart honestly that you are a sinner
and ask Him to forgive you of all that you have ever done. That is when your old
spirit of sin within you will be REBORN and your life with God into eternity
begins. (John 3:16)
If you have not done so yet (and you know who you are…) why not make that decision
right now. You have no guarantee of living another day on this earth, but you DO
have a guarantee of eternal life waiting for you. All you have to do is decide to
accept it.
