In years past we enjoyed the sounds of Christmas carols filling the air,
seeing smiles on faces as crowds strolled past glistening windows radiating twinkling
lights and dancing displays. While the trials of 2020 and COVID have masked over all that
we could see with our eyes or sing with our mouths, we must hold onto that fact that the
blessing of our beloved Emanuel’s birth is still “The Reason for the Season”
that gives us hope, and despite circumstances is the greatest gift of all!
While Christmas ought to remain a time full of joy and celebration, our country and the world
is not exempt from sorrow during this season. For many of us, our hurting hearts experience
intensified ache as memories flood our minds of loved ones now departed or of lives or businesses
cut short by a devilish epidemic. Even so, do not let these times of separation or loss overwhelm
you because our present is not our future and our future is one of glorious hope!
God’s Word is a sure foundation that we can always stand and depend on in every hard time.
Especially now, the best gift you can give friends and family is to share the comfort and
encouragement the Word of God will always bring.
If you know someone who is having a difficult Christmas this year, give them the gift of hope by first praying for them and letting them know that you are praying for them. Make time for that long overdue lunch date, and maybe even send them a sweet gift or thoughtful flower arrangement. Whatever you do, be sure to encourage them with God’s pure light this holiday season.
Fill your heart with hope and watch to see what our beloved King Jesus will do to bring His hope which is a great blessing to us all!!!
