There are some great hotels in the world, and whether you are there for one night
or many it is a great experience to enjoy the fine trappings of your room,
the magnificence of the lobby and a prestigious location.
And while we can and do enjoy the fullness of the experience, we don’t
go into our hotel and start remodeling, repainting and buying new furniture because that is not our
home – but in the analogy of life, that is exactly how many people live their lives on this earth.
You see, as much as we would like the entire world - and especially our own personal home -
to be peaceful, comfortable, and secure, the one thing that is certain is that
our life on earth is TEMPORARY and the 'house' that we all dwell in
(our bodies) will eventually (as today’s scripture says) be destroyed.
Putting it bluntly, we are all going to die, and all the decorations to our earthly homes
or the strictest care of our personal health, appearance, diet, exercise and
well-being will not prevent that day from coming.
However the Bible says that those that have accepted and recognized Jesus Christ
as their Lord God and Saviour have a special permanent home reserved for them.
It is called heaven and the only way to get there is NOT by 'being good,'
but by knowing who the owner of this 'hotel' is and personally and accepting His
invitation to be there in eternity.
So remember this...your reservation on 'Hotel Earth' will expire and you will
someday be forced to check out and all your re-decorating will be for naught.
Confess your sins to Him and receive His free gift of Salvation today, because you do not
know when this earthly hotel reservation expires. When you do, your reservation with Christ
in heaven is eternally secured.
