I love magic acts! They never fail to amaze and entertain and keep us asking “How was that possible?!?”
Although these things happen right before our eyes, presented in earnest honesty that
“there is nothing up my sleeve” the impossible is suddenly possible. For this reason we
continue to watch in awe and innocently enjoyed being fooled.
This is exactly how the entire world will be fooled by one man that will not only perform miracles,
but also solve problems on the earth that were seemingly impossible to solve –
and be made a hero and eventually a god for doing so. His magic will be so strong and
persuasive that people will go beyond entertainment to enchantment to the point that they will
believe anything and everything he does or says. He is known by many names, but the one he
is known best by is The Anti-Christ.
In the last seven years of the age called “The Tribulation” he will rise to political dominance
as the leader of the world by his gentle ways, calming, steady voice and wondrous works.
However the Bible tells us that this man’s power
on the world stage will be possible because Satan’s power will be behind him and he will
perform great things in supernatural “power and signs and lying wonders.” (2 Thessalonians 2:9)
The key to not be deceived both now and in the future is to always keep our eyes
and focus on what the Word of God says- and trust it and it alone. When we take our eyes
off of God’s Word and live life by what we see, it is like believing that the magician really
can cut someone in half and we instead believe in the deception instead of the truth and become completely fooled.
Like the talented magicians we see on stage, although we know that you really cannot saw
someone in half, we are happily entertained to believe it for fun, but there is a day coming
when the impossible will be so convincing that Jesus himself warned us:
“ For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets,
and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible,
they shall deceive the very elect.”
Matthew 24:24
Even now, Christian Walk by FAITH and not by SIGHT, which is the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1),
and keep yourself out of the snare of the devil, who can captivate you by his
“lying wonders” and crafty will and sKILL!
