You Were Born
To Love

“Love one another: for love is of God; and
every one that loves is born of God, and
Knows God.”

1 John 4:7

baby+heart Do you have a special book you enjoy reading over and over like it’s the very first time you laid your eyes on every page? I do and it’s 1 John in the New Testament. I like to call this book “The Love Book” because it not only teaches us to deeply grasp how very much God so loves all His children, but it teaches in every single chapter how to truly love like Him.

The Apostle John is called the one Jesus loved, not that Jesus didn’t also love the other disciples, but because John had a heart so much like Christ. His fatherly words speak wisely, tenderly yet firmly, and warn us to live out the commands Jesus teaches us on how we must love one another. One of these teachings is found in Chapter 5: 1-5 when he wrote:

“Everyone who believes that Jesus Christ is born of God,and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out His commands. And His commands are not burdensome. For everyone who is born of God overcomes the world.”
1 John 5:1-5

My friend, you and I are made in the exact image of God and we were born to love! When you come to know Christ Jesus God re-births you and you are born again! No, not in the physical sense, but born brand new in the spiritual sense. When this transformation happens to you God, your Father, will put a new heart in you and your heart will become filled with God’s love.

Perhaps the best known definition of perfect love is found in Corinthians: First Corinthians 13 gives us a beautiful description of how God wants us to live. Verse 13: 4-8 paints a perfect picture of how loves behaves. It tells us:

“Love is patient. Love is kind.
Love is not jealous.
Love doesn’t behave rudely or selfishly.
Love is not temperamental.
Love Bears all things, Believes all things,
Hopes all things, Endures all things.”

1 Corinthians 13-:4-8

Oh, my friend, all that matters in this life is living a life filled with TRUE Love which is God’s love. Do you have this kind of love and have met this love in Jesus? If not won’t you come to Him today? You can! Let’s pray together

Dear Heavenly Father,

I want to be filled with the love of God and know what it feels like to be spiritually born again. Please come inside this heart of mine today and give me a heart like yours. Forgive me of all of my sins, because I know you know them, and wash them all away. Accept me today as a child of God who will live forever with you. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen

God Bless Your Day
