If you were to ask me if I feel encouraged or discouraged about the conditions of the world these days, I’d have to give you more of a philosophical than theological answer.

First, I would say yes, we do live in a crazy world. In my opinion I think it all started back in the 60’s “with love, sex and rock ’n roll.” We called it the “Love Generation.” Our moral standards have continued to deteriorate and spiral downward ever since to the point we are rolling off in to oblivion! We now live in a world where faith in God has turned into faith in one’s self - an indifferent 21st century world becoming more and more inwardly isolated and self-absorbed, thanks to the invention of technology and a so-called “evolution” to a “Higher Consciousness.”

We’re living in a crazy world where terrorists groups and rampant shootings kill innocent people for absolutely no reason at all, forever wrecking the lives of so many families and loved ones - a world where there is so much parental neglect, apathy, arrogance, false pride, physical and mental abuse, sexual promiscuity, perversion, trafficking, abortion, materialism, serious neglect of the homeless — and all because of the absence of God and Christ in our lives. The list goes on and on...You can bet this world has gone crazy!!

Yet, I am NOT a Pessimist
I Am A Believer!

I believe that God is our anchor when we never know what is going to happen next. The Lord is our rock to stand on every time we hear about another devastating tragedy on the news. He tells us in Jeremiah 32:27, “I AM the Lord. The God of all mankind. Is there nothing I cannot do?”

I believe that God is our Fortress and our Shelter; the One we run to when there’s no place else to hide. His WORD says He will shelter us in the shadow of His wings and there’s no other place I would rather be! We are secure and safe, because God is with those who trust in Him. We have His shield to protect us making us able to withstand all the evil forces that come against us, no matter who or what they are.

Whenever I hear something terrible that has happened in our country or in the world, I turn to this also assuring scripture which always calms me and gives me a real sense of peace: “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” (Psalm 46:10)

The Lord secures us again in this passage: “From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch you out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done.” (Isaiah 43:13)

So when we hear of more insanity continuing to rise up here in our homeland or somewhere in the world, Stay Sane. Remember Who is in command. Our focus should not be on this crazy world, but on God above.
