Human trafficking is the crime of leading a person on a path that, if they could foresee the end of it,
they would never have placed themselves in that position of vulnerability. It can be overt like an
abduction or it can be gradual and subtle.
There is no single profile of a person that has been trafficked and these victims can be of any race,
religion, sex, socioeconomic status, national origin, age or education level. Once captured they can be
sexually misused, sold, or forced into a slavery from which they cannot escape. But where did such a
horrible idea originate?
After Satan, 'The Son of Perdition' was cast out of heaven, he wanted to take as many with him
as he could and did by 'trafficking' others by promising one third of God’s angels to
follow him to earth where he would give them even more glorious recognition. They fell for it and blindly
followed him just like so many celebrities, politicians and others do to this day who succumb to his
lies and schemes enticing them with promises he only temporarily keeps.
Likewise traffickers today promise something to the victim that satisfies a DESIRE, WANT or (perceived)
NEED that they have, and this is the lesson and warning that all need to heed when we are tempted to
follow after our lust. The Apostle James put it this way:
“These desires give birth to sinful actions.
And when sin is allowed to grow,
It gives birth to death.
”
James 1:15
Friend, don’t let Satan 'traffic you' by appealing to your desires, for while you may get
satisfaction in the short run, in the long view it will be Satan’s stated purpose to you to
Steal, Kill and Destroy You! Instead look to God and “Delight thyself also in the LORD;
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” and you will NEVER be LOST.
