The ‘Foolishness’
Of The Bible

“But the natural man receiveth
not the things of the Spirit of God:
for they are foolishness unto him:
neither can he know them,
because they are spiritually discerned.”

2 Corinthians 2:14

Most of the world does not think much of the validity or truth of the Bible. Why?

Because for many it is a foolish book; a book too old, too out of date, too far-fetched, and not relevant to our modern age. Stories of talking snakes and donkeys, food falling out of the sky, a man walking on water, and the sun going backward appear totally laughable and show the foolishness of anyone willing to believe such nonsense. Lastly, the concept of ‘god’ becoming ‘man’ and dying on a cross for their ‘sins’ is the most ridiculous of all. To the thinking, evolved, educated person’s mind, none of this is believable or logical.

We all have friends or relatives (or maybe even you) that feel this way. They don’t see, understand, or accept that they need salvation for their ‘sins,’ to have faith in God, or to believe what this book says. To them, all of this is foolishness-- but this is exactly what God’s Word says about people who use their ‘logic’ to understand or believe the Bible.

1 Corinthians 1:18 puts it this way:

“The preaching of the cross
to them that perish (is) foolishness;
but unto us which are saved
it is the power of God.”

God warns people that dismiss the truth of the Bible how foolish they really are. Romans 1:22 says "Professing themselves to be wise, they (are the ones that really) became fools." The "they" part here are not the people believing God’s Word, but the ones that think it is foolish. The Apostle Paul warns these "wise ones" in Galatians 6:7 "Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."

If you are an unbeliever and doubt the validity of the Bible and the urgent plea from God to save your soul, don’t be deceived! Open your heart and spirit today to what the Bible is saying to you! Daniel 12:10 says that "...the wise shall understand." Don’t be foolish and wise in your own ‘natural’ mind. Your eternal destiny is determined by your heavenly wisdom, and not your earthly foolishness.
