The Reflection Pool

“The Son is the radiance of
God’s glory and the exact
representation of his being,
sustaining all things by his
powerful word.”

Hebrews 1:3

Have you ever seen your image in a reflection pool? What would you say your reflection says about you? Are you self-centered or Christ- centered? Let’s face it...we humans tend to be self-satisfied, self-centered and self-motivated self-promoters. We think we can do everything that self demands. But the Bible says in Ephesians 4: 22-24, self must die so that Christ Jesus will be manifested in His full power in our life.

We are all needy people because every minute of the day we need Jesus whether we realize it or not. It is when we fail and fall that we be begin to realize that we are helpless without Him by our side. When we come to a real problem facing us in the reflection pool that cannot be solved in our own humanness, then Jesus can and does restore whatever we feel we have lost. Then we are no longer self-centered, but we become Christ-centered once again.

One of the most beautiful scriptures that is important to memorize is Psalm 23: 1-3 which gives us complete assurance that Jesus is always here by our side to help us through every situation, especially our most difficult ones.

“The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.”
(There is no want in Jesus).

“He makes me to lie down in green pastures.”
(Jesus is our supply for everything we need)

“He leads me beside still waters.”
(Still waters are like a mirror reflecting not only our own reflection,
but the reflection of Jesus standing by our side).

“He restores my soul;”
(The peace of Jesus restores the peace of
our mind, our will and our emotions.)

“He leads me in paths of righteousness For His names sake.”
(We follow His guidance)

Life can bring us some real hard knocks and it may seem that there is no possible way to get past them. You may not see the light at the end of the tunnel right now, but there is a way out, and it comes through you turning to Jesus who holds the compass. He will guide you in the right direction, calm your mind, remove your anxiety and replace it with His amazing peace. Resolve yourself to allow Him to help you solve the problem.

We can’t see behind the curtain, but God works behind the scenes putting things together in order for you. Trust Him and He will bring restoration back into your life. Talk with Him and have fellowship with Him. He loves and cares so much for you. Then your praise will be restored, and your worship will be restored. Let Him lead you in His paths of righteousness and He will once again be glorified in your life. When you give it all to Jesus and see your reflection again you will know Jesus, your Savior, (the One who saves) is standing right by your side.
