Look Out, Trial Ahead

“Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings
and does them, I will show you who he is like.
He is like a man building a house,
who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock.
And when the flood arose, the stream beat
vehemently against that house, and could not shake it,
for it was founded on the rock.”

Luke 8:47-48

One thing is for certain, there's a trial of some kind ahead, it will be a bumpy road so let's get prepared for whatever it is.

We don't need to use our cell phone, because God's word is our direct line to our Father who keeps us properly aligned for anything that comes at us. The Good News is that we have a rock to stand on, and who is the Rock? Jesus.

Trials and chastening come to grow us to test our faith and to help us to remember three main things:

  • God's Holy Word is TRUE
  • God loves us and is ALWAYS WITH US
  • God is always FAITHFUL
Whether it is chastening from the Lord or being blindsided by something unexpected, prepare yourself ahead of time, because both things will surely come. When you build yourself up on your faith, and when you read and study God’s Word, you will see how others in the past came through their trials to claim their victory. You can and will do the same!

This world is full of uncertainty, and because we need all of God’s power, strength and protection, remind yourself to read Ephesians 6: 11-18, and “Put on the armor of God.” There may be a bumpy, rocky road ahead, so be prepared to withstand the trial ahead by building up your faith, no matter what comes your way.
