It’s Good
To Be
“Broken”

“Whosoever shall fall on this stone
Shall be broken, but on
Whomsoever it shall fall, it will
Grind him to powder.”

Matthew 21:24

When we think that something is “broken” it would appear that there is a problem. However in God’s view, being ‘broken’ is actually a good thing. When we are born into this world, even though we come in as sweet innocent babies, there is rebelliousness in all of us called “the sin nature.” The Bible says in Romans 3:23 “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” As a result we are all in essence “wild” and want by nature go our own way.

Think of a beautiful wild horse. They run out in the prairies and canyons at will and have great power, but when they are caught, in order for this power to be used, they must be “broken.” Only when the horse’s wild nature is broken can it be used for its masters’ purpose.

Likewise we also must be broken from our natural sinful way so we can be used for the Masters’ purpose. In the Psalms it speaks about this when it says:

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit:
a broken and a contrite heart, O God,
thou wilt not despise.”

Psalm 51:17

Fall upon God, and let your wild spirit be broken! Trust in him and he will harness the power in you for good.
