How often in life have you been with someone who
needed encouragement? Someone who has lost a loved one,
lost their job, their home due to disaster or financial lost,
to those who have no direction in life, have severe addictions
or others who live on the streets. There are so many
circumstances that cause us a loss of hope or even the desire
to live, but the good news is that there IS someone
to turn to....and His name is Jesus.
If anyone understand loss, it is Christ. When sin entered
the world through Satan in the Garden of Eden despair and pain
entered the world, but he had a plan that would bring
us all to restoration. This is exactly what Jesus
did when he came to earth and put on human flesh and
suffered all that we suffer and then some.
He took our sicknesses and dis-eases, all our sins,
past, present and future. Think on this. God loves you
so much that He took our place and provided a way
to eventually have victory over our loss and struggles.
The key is stepping into his commandment
“To Be STRONG and COURAGEOUS”
because despite the horrible circumstances that we may
currently be in, he is there and said he will be with us
“...be with you wherever we go.”

There was a popular song many years ago that said,
“Reach out and touch somebody’s hand.
Make this world a better place if you can.” This song
stuck with me for years because it was filled with
encouraging words for humanity reminding us to take care of each other.
This is what Jesus wants us to do. Pass on that kind of love to others.
The Apostle Paul writes these words to remind us to live unselfish
lives looking out for others and what concerns them:
“Therefore
if there is any consolation in Christ,
if any comfort of love,
if any fellowship of the Spirit,
if any affection and mercy,
fulfill my joy by being like-minded,
having the same love, being of one accord,
of one mind.
Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit,
but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
Let each of you look out not only for his own interests,
but also for the interest of others.”
Philippians 2:1-4
My friend, everyday is an opportunity for you to be like Jesus.
If someone is suffering loss or discouraged, step out of yourself
and be an encourager to everyone who needs a helping hand or
a gentle touch. You may even have an opportunity to change
the course - or even SAVE - someone”s life.
