Hope Is A Drop Of Color
On A Cloudy Day

“For we were saved in this hope,
but hope that is seen is not hope;
for why does one still hope for what he sees?
But if we hope for what we do not see
we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.”

Romans 8:24-25

This scripture takes time for us to absorb especially if it’s the first time you’ve read it. Here is what it is teaching us:

First: That we are saved by believing in Jesus and our hope is in Him.
Second: We still hope even though we cannot see the future.
Third: We are to wait, yet persevere with eagerness putting our faith in God that through Him all these things we hope for are working out for our good.

We all have those feelings of believing for something we want to happen will come to pass, but have no idea what is ahead of us or what the future will bring. These are the times when we need to have an anchor that we can rely on. We might call it times when we need a drop of COLOR on a cloudy day. What we are anticipating here is our need for “Hope”. We long with great expectation for what is coming confident that God hears our prayers, believing that what we have been hoping for will be answered.

Here is what God teaches us that Jesus is our hope:

“Now hope does not disappoint,
because the love of God has been
poured out in our hearts by the
Holy Spirit who was given to us.”

Romans 5:5

“That God... may give to you the
spirit of wisdom and revelation … (s0) that you may know
what is the hope of His calling...”

Ephesians 1:17-18 (abbreviated)

“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

Whenever you need that splash of COLOR on your dreary days, let HOPE arise in your heart.
