From the Root
To the Fruit

“A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit,
neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.”

Matthew 7:18

Any tree that bears “good fruit” must have “good roots.”

We are a lot like trees because like trees we start as a seed, send our roots “down” and then we grow “up,” but the question is ‘what kind of fruit will our tree put forth?’ That depends on what kind of seed and who does the planting!

If not rooted in Christ, Jesus said, “Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.” (and that) “The axe is laid unto the root of (those) trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.”

When we are grounded in the truth of the Bible and in Christ, we will always bear good fruit. Be connected to God! Glorify him in every area of your life so that “ye bear much fruit.” (John 15:8)

In Ephesians 3:17 it says (to paraphrase) that as “we let Christ live in our hearts, we are rooted and established in his love.”

Be IN CHRIST! Be PLANTED in his LOVE!
