The Christian Walk Is
NOT
A Straight Line
Walk in all the ways
That I have
Commanded you

Many people think being a Christian means adhering
to a set of strict rules of DO’s
and DONT’s and walking along a perfectly
straight and narrow path. However, interestingly enough the
core meaning of the word Walk in Greek has a
surprisingly different and interesting meaning.
In the original language this word means to literally
'Walk Around' anything that may
encumber your steps or cause you to fall.
That’s why Proverbs 4:26-27 says that we need to be careful
and to “Ponder the PATH of your feet” and to
“Remove your foot from evil.” These are warnings to
not step or fall into anything that will cause you harm.
A sad but humorous example of this was of a woman walking on a sidewalk
who was totally engrossed in her cell phone. Workers had dug a giant hole
to repair an underground pipe and by not paying attention to
the path of her feet walked STRAIGHT into that hole!
Friend, while the way to eternal life is a narrow road,
there are obstacles and dangers along that path that we need
to carefully walk around. And while the Bible instructs us that
“Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way,
which leads to eternal life” (Matthew 7:14)
we must always be diligent as we walk along the road of life
and be aware of and avoid dangerous traps along the way.
Falling into trouble always follows not paying attention
to your PATH.
