I have been a professional lead trumpet player for many years,
and part of what we do is playing High Notes.
Other trumpeters often ask me,
“How DO YOU play so high?”
and while diligent practice and careful technique is essential,
when the moment comes to play those notes, you have to
BELIEVE you will and Not Have Doubt.
Nobody can believe that for me.
— I have to believe it myself.
Likewise, believing in God and the promises of the Bible
for forgiveness and salvation is Something Only You Can Do.
Nobody can do that for you. You have to believe it for yourself.
It doesn’t matter if you were raised in church,
attend every Sunday, have friends that are Christians,
attend a Bible study, go on retreats, have
people lay hands on you or have a pastor pray for you.
When you get to that point in your 'song of life' ultimately YOU have to
BELIEVE the gospel and in Christ yourself
with confidence and also NOT HAVE DOUBT.
Receiving the gift of salvation starts with
simply saying to God:
“LORD, I am a sinner.
I cannot justify the many bad things
and grievous mistakes I have done.
Please forgive me.
From this day on I recognize that
YOU are the LORD and YOU are my SAVIOUR.
Starting today, I want to follow you
and live a life obedient to you.
Thank you. Amen.
Friend, this is something only you can do.
Nobody can do it for you, so if you have not done so--
- NOW is the time.
- TODAY is that day.
Believe and proclaim this with confidence!
And the 'High' calling of your
eternal security in Christ will NEVER BE IN DOUBT.
