The modern world is demanding. Between work, family, relationships,
keeping up with news, what’s happening on-line,
taking personal time and a variety of other attention grabbers
it seems we never have enough time. As a result, many things we could
or should do get pushed aside forgotten altogether —
and that often includes making time for God and our relationship to the Almighty.
If you were to take the time (pun intended) to read today’s verse
in the entire context of Isaiah 66, it paints an even more poignant
picture of the disassociated state of many people, and the Bible repeatedly addresses how
people consciously do NOT Make Time For God:
- “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every
one to his own way.”
Isaiah 53:6
- “They know about God, but they don’t
honor him or even thank him. Their thoughts are useless,
and their stupid minds are in the dark.”
Romans 1:21
- “People would not listen to me.
They kept doing whatever they wanted, following the
stubborn desires of their evil hearts.
They went backward instead of forward.”
Jeremiah 7:24
The biggest obstacle to spending time with God is not the lack of time,
but what you value most to do with your time.
Your TIME in this life is limited.
What are your time priorities?
