Are You a
Weak-End
Christian?

A restaurant chef is talking to a chicken, and he asks the chicken, “People are coming in for lunch, but I’m not sure if they want egg-salad sandwiches or fried chicken. What do you suggest?”

On Sundays, many church-going Christians are like that chicken! They are willing to make an easy contribution of their time and attention for one hour a week, but being fully committed to live a godly life every day is not on the menu.

Jesus spoke about commitment and what it means to be his disciple in very direct terms. He said that it required taking up your cross daily, forsaking things in your life that encumber and beset, and to count the cost of what it really means to invest your life as his disciple.

Following Christ and living a godly life is not easy in a world where there are constant distractions pulling you from every direction. Even the word DISCIPLE implies and requires DISCIPLINE and is not for the weak or fainthearted. It is a commitment that requires much more than tacet participation out of duty, obligation, or habit.

Friend, instead as God’s Word implores us:

“Stay alert,
Stand firm in the faith,
Show courage,
Be strong!”
1 Corinthians 16:13
