Years ago while walking in a mall a young fellow taking a survey asked
if I frequently wore dress shirts and would be willing to evaluate and
comment on some samples. We went into a small office and on a table
were half a dozen white shirts. He asked me to rate them on a
scale of 1-to-10 and comment what I liked or disliked about each one,
but when I got to the last shirt I didn’t answer.
He then somewhat curiously asked me what I thought and I replied,
“I Wouldn’t Be Caught DEAD In That Shirt!”
This is how many (maybe you?) also view the message of the Gospel!
You also would not want to be 'caught dead'
associating yourself with something so seemingly naive and out-of-touch
with our evolved, enlightened, modern world that it too would likewise be
AN EMBARRASSMENT to be seen associating yourself with the Gospel to others.
Jesus said “Wide is the Way that Leads To Destruction…but
Narrow is The Way That Leads to Eternal Life.” (Matthew 7:13-14)
When going with the flow it’s always easy to follow the crowd and avoid
being embarrassed and deny Christ and the Gospel,
but Jesus said:
“Whosoever shall deny me before men,
HIM WILL I ALSO DENY
before my Father which is in heaven.”
Matthew 10:33
Friend, you have a choice to stand FOR Christ
- and as today’s verse says - to NOT be ashamed
or be embarrassed about the Gospel and deny Him.
What are you not ashamed of?
