The Bible is a very easy book to criticize!
Upon casual reading, it contains numerous accounts that make absolutely
NO SENSE and appear to be counter to science and logic. Agreed?
For example, the 'great flood' and Noah’s ark,
crossing of the red sea on dry land, the earth stopping (and even
going backwards in time!), thousands fed from a few loaves and fishes
- and the real shop-stopper - Jesus resurrecting from the dead.
As today’s verse says, these and other things appear to be
Foolishness and truly make no sense from natural human observation, but
as the scripture says can only be understood spiritually.
But what does that look like?
Be you a 'believer' in Christ and/or the Bible or not,
everyone has had some sort of spiritual experience at one time or another.
It could have been being awed by a shimmering sunset, overpowered by
a fresh spring morning, agaze at a night sky full of stars or
seeing your first child born. At that moment you then SAW something from
a different perspective into a spiritual one, and it is that same kind of experience
when seeing God and His word from a completely different point of view.
So instead of looking in a murky mirror reflecting nothing, in one
particular moment you start seeing through and beyond what was once
senseless about God and the Bible and it then all makes sense.
You may not be there as you read this, and these words themselves
may appear to be just as senseless - and that is ok - but God is patient.
Friend, if that is you today, He is waiting for you
to come to that point of seeing.
How, when, or if you
get there is entirely up to you.
