Do You Have
A Hard Heart?

“For they considered not
The miracle of the loaves:
For their heart was
HARDENED

Mark 6:52

StoneyHeart What does it mean to have a HARD HEART?

The dictionary defines this as being cold, insensitive, and unfeeling. When we look around at our world today would you agree that we have allowed our hearts to become hardened? It was not something that we’ve consciously set out to do, or that we wanted to see happen, but in this fast-paced world of possions, pleasures, and prosperity it is something that has become part of our culture to believe in the HERE AND NOW - and not the HEREAFTER.

As an example, consider that just hours before Jesus’s disciples had witnessed the miraculous feeding of 5,000 people, today’s gospel account reports that they saw Jesus walk on water and enter their boat in the middle of the sea. So after these two miraculous events you’d think that they would have wondered at NOTHING, yet it said “...their hearts were HARDENED” - and here’s why…

You see, from a spiritual perspective, true understanding comes from and through the HEART, not the MIND, so when we try to perceive supernatural through logical reasoning it is easy to reject what that is. Pharoah as well, when confronted with miracles refused to accept the power of God and it says 'his heart was hardened.' Likewise when people also look doubtfully at the works and words of God, they dismiss them as illogical or non-sensical and likewise 'Harden Their Heart' towards anything godly.

On the contrary, Softening Our Hearts helps us to come to recognize our pride and understand God’s Words AND Ways with our heart and not the mind. By humbling ourselves and Seeking God’s Face we then are able to know and see the reality of what is true.

So if you answered 'Yes' to having a hard heart, please grasp how big God’s grace and mercy is by understanding this with your heart and not your mind.

When and if you do, you’ll realize the gift that God’s Son has given you, which was His very life shed on a wooden cross. Soft hearts will see and know that.

Friend,
