Eagles are amazing creatures. They soar on the wings of the wind without struggle,
have exceptional vision and can effortlessly fly to great heights.
However, a documentary told a touching story about one eagle that had
unfortunately eaten something and acquired lead poisoning.
When found, the eagle had lost half its body weight,
was extremely weak and also surprisingly very docile -
which is contrary to its natural aggressive nature.
A wildlife warden took the bird in, and after many months of proper care
and nourishment - along with the eagle’s trust with his caretaker and desire to live -
it gained back its weight and strength and was successfully
released again into the wild.
Likewise, if you feel like you are in a place of weakness and
losing hope for your life, God is the caretaker that can nourish
and sustain you back to wholeness and health.
As today’s scripture verse reminds us,
like the eagle that was sickened by the poison in the world,
if you are in a weakened state, be like that eagle!
Place your trust in the loving care of the Saviour.
When you do, the Spirit of God will nourish, restore, and
restrengthen you to see life clearly with eagle eyes and
ascend to heights and soar above where you’ve been before.
Friend, be docile and humble yourself to the healing hand of God,
because when you do, God’s Word promises:
“
Humble yourselves therefore
under the mighty hand of God,
so that at the right time
He may set you On High.”
