If you take a look at this picture, almost everyone would say
that they are like the person on the left, and not the one on the right!
But from God’s point of view, our Outward Appearance of
being 'a good person' is worth nothing in His sight.
On the contrary, the Bible tells us:
- “All have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God;”
-Romans 3:23
- “We are all as an unclean thing, and all our
righteousness are as filthy rags”
-Isaiah 64:6
- “Whenever (people) measure themselves by
their own standards or compare themselves among themselves,
they show how foolish they are.”
-2 Corinthians 10:12
- “All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight,
But the LORD weighs the motives.”
-Proverbs 16:2
- “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. ”
-Romans 3:10
Please don’t get me or this message WRONG!!
Yes! We all CAN indeed (and should) live decent lives as good neighbors,
citizens, employees, friends, or parents,
but the bright gold color of that halo you put on yourself does not -
and cannot - save you. On the contrary, God’s promise to us is that:
“He saved us, NOT on the basis of
deeds which we have done in righteousness,
but ACCORDING TO HIS MERCY, by the
washing of regeneration and renewing
by the Holy Spirit.”
Titus 3:5
Friend, don’t be foolish and hope in your good works, because
your salvation is only in He who said
“I am the WAY, the TRUTH,
and the LIFE.” (Jesus Christ)
Is your hope in your HALO?
