The 2025 Los Angeles fire is a poignant example of
loss that fortells a transition by fire that we
also will one day face.
Lying beneath the rubble of a fire-scorched home
laid a charred Academy Award statue. While its owner fortunately
escaped this earthly flame, the Bible tells us in
1 Corinthians 3:12-13 that if we build our lives solely on the
abundance of what we have, own, or have achieved, God
will try these things by fire — but here’s the thing.
Only that which has been done - or is, FOR CHRIST - will remain.
We all come into this world with nothing, and all the
things about this life will pass away except one thing,
and this is the only thing of Eternal Value
which is YOUR SOUL.
Friend, all of our lives will one day be tested by God’ cleansing fire,
so the question is,
“Are you 'Of Christ?'
And what will remain of your life once tested by that fire?”
