A recent on-line poll showed surprisingly that the vast majority of people use profanity out of habit. This is an easy practice to get into, especially if you are in an environment where others regularly do the same.
Our words and how we express ourselves is very important,
In fact Jesus said that it is not what goes into a person that defiles them,
but what comes OUT of them. The Bible says that we shall be judged for
all that we do, think, and SAY and that our speech ought to be
clear and distinct “So that you may not fall under judgement.” (James 5:1)
Our words both define us and describe us who we are to others and of what
character we be. As Christians in particular, it is important that we live clean lives
that are an example to others of Christ in us and let the light of Christ shine forth from our lives.
So friend, keep this in mind and practice:
“In Speech, Conduct, Love, Faith, and Purity,
show yourself an example of those who believe.”
1 Timothy 4:12
