Everybody is looking for something in this life
that is important to them, and it breaks
down to two things:
Cause -vs- Comfort
and/or
Purpose -vs- Pleasure
We are all seeking to either DO or BE or HAVE Something,
and that 'Something' is what is driving us.
When you answer that question, you’ll have a good handle
on what your life motivations are and where you want
to see your life go.
By nature, as today’s scripture reminds us,
we naturally are looking out for “#1“
but Jesus instead tells us, “Whosoever
will come after me, let him deny himself, and take
up his cross, and follow me.” (Mark 8:34)
It really is counter-intuitive to not seek after what
WE want but instead deny ourselves and seek instead
what the LORD is asking us to do, and with that comes
his promise in Psalm 19:11 - “Moreover by them
is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there
is GREAT REWARD.” (Psalm 19:11)
Friend there is an earthly 'golden apple'and a Godly
GOLDEN APPLE. Put aside the temporary strivings on
earth of Pleasure & Comfort
and reach for and seek Cause & Purpose
in God’s will and you will indeed
have the GREATEST REWARD.
